Abstract

Specimens (obtained from various collection sites) of each of three common Fagara Linn. Species were examined with a view to setting some pharmacopoeial standards’ including percentage total ash, acid-isoluble ash, water-soluble as as well as perventege soluble extractives. Fixed values for commercial samples were recommended, based on the experimental findings. The significance of the findings are discussed in relation to ourrecommendations for standards to be included in a local pharmacopoeia in respect of these crude drugs.
