Abstract

Pharmacy has always evolved and developed as a caring  profession. However, the focus at that caring has shifted over time trom the drug product to the patient. During the Compounding, and rnanufacturing era ot the 1950s, pharmacists expressed their caring by preparing drug products in accordance with stringent quality- control procedures. The unit dose era saw pharmacists caring by seeking to eliminate unnecessary nursing manipulations, ensuring that the patients received their medications, and reducing the incidence at medication errors.
