Abstract

Castor oil plant (R.comunis L.) has been used extensively in the different parts of the world as medicament for the treatment of different ailments. As oral herbal contraceptive, R.communis L. has been used in the middle belt of Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and the Middle East in general. The seed’s efficacy as a contraceptive drug has been confirmed by both Scientists in Nigeria and other  Countries worldwide.
