Abstract

Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) is one of the six types of encapsuloted strains of the  bacteria. lniections due to this bacterium are a major cause at morbidity and mortality in young children globally. Out of the six serotypes (types a-f), type b is responsible for over 90% at the life threatening Haemophilus influenzae infections in children, including meningitis and pneumonia.
