Abstract

Inappropriate use of drugs is a global problem affecting the health-care system. This is of particular importance in the elderly as the prevalence of drug use increases with increasing age. The subject of irrational prescription is of utmost importance regarding pharmacotherapy in the elderly since they use more medicines than the younger population and are at a high risk for developing
adverse drug events.
